National Harbor Pumping Station

National Harbor is a large entertainment resort complex. In order to accommodate this sizeable project and have it function properly on all levels, the utility system required additional facilities without significantly impacting the aesthetic property. Specifically, a facility to provide sewer capacity and a travel path to the wastewater treatment plant was required.

The amount of average daily flow (adf) was proven to be sufficient for the drainage area; however, it was necessary to be able to physically move the wastewater from the site to the treatment plant. A pump station was the best solution. Soltesz strategically sited the pump station to reduce its aesthetic impact on the surrounding development.
