Manager of Surveying

Soltesz, Inc. is actively seeking a qualified candidate to provide management and oversight to our Land Surveying department in our Lanham, Maryland office. Soltesz's survey department works on a variety of market sectors such as local land development, municipal, residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The Manager of Surveying will be responsible for overseeing and managing the survey field and office staff. The Manager will also be responsible for project management, quality control, staffing, personnel, client relations, and financial performance.

The following are the essential duties of the position:

• Coordinate with project engineers and project managers on field work requests
• Maintain quality control and quality assurance protocols
• Help advance efficiency through training and other means such as newer technology
• Manage survey field crews and oversee scheduling with help from Field Coordinator
• Manage survey projects
• Analyze and process boundary and ALTA Land Title Surveys and prepare legal descriptions
• Track project budgets and manage deadlines
• Work directly with clients to ensure scope and deadlines are met, addressing client needs and concerns

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or a college degree preferred
• 5+ years’ progressive experience in land and topographic surveying, including crew management and oversight
• Must be a strong communicator with clients and in-house project engineers/managers
• Excellent written communication skills and self-motivation
• Experience with MicroStation preferred, but not required
