Soltesz employees raised over $1,000 to help the residents of Puerto Rico recover after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. This donation will provide essential supplies to help children and their families keep clean and healthy during this time of crisis. 

Urban Atlantic and Kaiser Permanente is getting closer to its goal to bring about 850 employees to Prince George's County. A groundbreaking celebration for the new 200,000 square foot facility at the New Carrollton Metro Station commenced on October 4, 2017. New Carrollton has grown immensely over the past five years. The 49-acre mixed-use development is planned to include 1.3M square feet of residential space, 1.1M square feet of office space, 150K square feet of retail space, and a hotel. 

The La Plata Rotary Club held it's biggest event of the year on October 1, 2017. The Lobster Festival has taken place every year since the inception of the club in 1975. Participants enjoyed amazing food, live music, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, and much more.

Dave Cooksey, Senior Vice President in our Waldorf office, has been a member of the Rotary Club for many years. The Lobster Festival supports scholarships, donations, and community service activities. 100% of the money raised goes to local scholarships and charities throughout Charles County.  

On Sunday, September 24, 2017, the 26th Annual Baltimore Washington Ride for Kids was held at Turf Valley Resort with over 230 participants and volunteers in attendance. Over the past 26 years, this Baltimore Washington Ride for Kids event has raised $3,800,000 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF). The PBTF is the largest non-governmental source of funding for research, treatment, and family support for children with brain tumors.

Soltesz sponsored the 2017 Maryland Housing Conference on September 20, 2017 in Baltimore. The Maryland Housing Conference is the largest and most comprehensive housing forum in the state. The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development has been partnering with the Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) for the past 15 years. Community development leaders, housing authorities, home builders, legislators and more came together to discuss solutions and opportunities for home ownership in Maryland.

Soltesz likes to start and end the season with a smile. Summer started with an appreciation gift for all employees with a summer shirt. The Rockville office enjoyed the last bit of summer on September 8, 2017 with a huge BBQ. This annual BBQ was a little different this year with more employees and more groundbreaking projects.

Fall is right around the corner and Soltesz is shaping up to have a very strong year with new pursuits, growing our offices, and building new relationships.

Another successful MACo summer conference! Soltesz exhibited at this year's conference in Ocean City, MD at the Roland Convention Center from August 16th to August 18th. This conference attracted more than 2,000 of Maryland's leaders, legislators, state government officials, and commercial and nonprofit representatives.The event allowed Soltesz to be visible to everyone involved or related to state and local government.

Soltesz is prepared for the eclipse! There hasn't been a total solar eclipse across the United States since 1979! We watched history together at 2:45 pm in Rockville, MD.

As the second largest home builder in the nation, Lennar has a vast amount of experience developing and building communities that meet the needs of the homebuyers, surrounding residents, and government agencies across the United States. Lennar has been successfully building and selling new homes within the St. Charles community since 2004, but with this recent acquisition, will now also take over the role of owner and developer of substantially all of the remaining planned unit development. 

Roxana Roman, Managing Member/Chief Engineer in our DC office, volunteered on August 9, 2017 with ULI Washington at the Conway Health and Resource Center in Washington, DC. The Bellevue Back to School Bash is a community event that prepares Ward 8 students for a successful school year by providing free school supplies, as well as access to educational and wellness services. This combination of resources makes the Back to School Bash an essential event for families seeking to break the cycle of poverty through education.
