Soltesz recognized employee contributions on Friday, December 08, 2017. Just in time for the cold weather, each employee received an Under Armour ¼ zip. Employees from Soltesz’s six offices in the DC Metropolitan Area have exemplified the commitment to excellence required for driving success and growth for the company and clients. Communication and teamwork are vital aspects of Soltesz’s success. It takes a cohesive team effort to develop a process that is efficient and exceeds client expectations. 

Every year, Soltesz hosts a Holiday Card Art Contest with the students at Loiederman Middle School in Silver Spring, Maryland. Soltesz supports the community and the arts through our annual holiday art competition at the school in memory of Mario A. Loiederman. The theme this year was "diversity".Here are some of the fun entries from the students for the 2017 Holiday Card. The 2017 winners are:

Soltesz is very pleased to announce that Ed Carroll, P.E. has been promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the Southern Maryland operations. Most recently, Ed served as Vice President and Director of Environmental Engineering for Soltesz. His leadership skills and brilliant delivery of client services have been outstanding, which led to his promotion to Vice President in 2011. Ed has been with the firm since 2003 and has 30 years of professional experience in the field of civil engineering and land use planning in Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary’s counties.

A groundbreaking on November 30, 2017 for a $543 million new hospital in Largo was attended by Maryland and Prince George’s County officials. The Regional Medical Center will be located at Largo Town Center. It will be directly accessible from the Capital Beltway's (I-495) Arena Drive Exit 15. 

Employees took a trip around the globe this week at the 17th Annual International Potluck in the Rockville office. The potluck was a great success and showcased the international flavor of our employees. Dishes filled two buffet tables and offered something for everyone. 

The annual international potluck is one of the ways Soltesz shows appreciation to its employees, providing the opportunity for team building and enjoyment. 

Soltesz surprised its staff with a thank you breakfast! Our staff has been working around the clock to meet the needs of our clients. We are very grateful for the numerous projects we have been awarded in the past year. Our engineers have been an integral part of securing these projects because of their dedication to our clients. A buffet of fresh fruit, egg pockets, oatmeal, bagels, and a juice bar was very much appreciated by all.

Jim Gotsch, Senior Associate in our Leonardtown office, was selected as the 2017 recipient of the Maryland Building Industry Association's "1st Annual Southern Maryland Associate of the Year" award. The MBIA Awards of Excellence honors the outstanding individuals that highlight exceptional work in our industry. The MBIA Awards of Excellence will be held on November 15, 2017 in Hanover, Maryland. 

Soltesz recently participated in the 2017 Chi Epsilon Fall Career Fair at University of Maryland on October 20, 2017. The career fair was for students interested in seeking full-time career opportunities and internships with engineering firms across the Metropolitan Area. 

Soltesz employees raised over $1,000 to help the residents of Puerto Rico recover after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. This donation will provide essential supplies to help children and their families keep clean and healthy during this time of crisis. 

Urban Atlantic and Kaiser Permanente is getting closer to its goal to bring about 850 employees to Prince George's County. A groundbreaking celebration for the new 200,000 square foot facility at the New Carrollton Metro Station commenced on October 4, 2017. New Carrollton has grown immensely over the past five years. The 49-acre mixed-use development is planned to include 1.3M square feet of residential space, 1.1M square feet of office space, 150K square feet of retail space, and a hotel.
